An antique cherry piano was gutted and modified to accommodate an 88 key weighted midi controller, audio and video monitors, and the end block was routed to accept pitch/modulation wheels. We designed special switches for the pedals to control midi sustain, talkback, and recording punch-in. This unit now resides in Joey's personal home studio.

An old, beat up baby grand piano was gutted and modified to accommodate a composer's entire recording rig. Aside from the mods, we did extensive repair work to the case and refinished the piano to look good as new. The pedals function as sustain, talkback, and recording punch-in. This unit now resides in Joey's studio at tonefarmer.

Below are some examples of custom rack furniture, often designed to augment an existing workstation setup.

Traditional sideboard rack designed around cherry piano front, which became the top of this piece. Designed for score writing when closed. The top flips up to reveal 16 rack spaces with more rack spaces and storage behind the doors beneath.

Custom cherry chest of drawers, designed as a companion to a matching workstation desk, made to store synthesizers and miscellaneous instruments and processors.

This large rolling rack was designed to house computers as well as rack gear, and take the space once occupied by a console, which was much deeper than racks available on the market.

This rolling desk was designed as a second station to compliment the mix station. End panels and edging were finished to match Toft ATB console.

This DJ station was created for a champagne lounge in Tribeca. The desktop is adorned by end caps in the shape of champagne bottles. The unit can be broken down into 3 parts and easily moved when not in use. It has a removable finished back for equipment access and the door slides open to reveal ample storage.






Below are some examples of more traditional furniture and accessories for the home or studio space.

This table was designed for the home of composer James Harned. It provides a pleasing form to look at while folded up, and a functional, 5 person dining table when folded down. The table uses traditional joinery techniques with most attachments accomplished by sliding dovetail joints, which can be disassembled if necessary for transport. The brace and hinge mechanism is entirely crafted of wood and becomes integral to the design when the table is folded against the wall.

Table was designed to match the leg, apron, and aged finish details of an existing antique piano bench

This bookcase was designed to hold a massive score library and to utilize the room's ceiling height to store CD's. Unit can be broken into two pieces for transport.

These three racks were designed around a large maple desktop, with added guitar amplifier handles for portability. Each rack has a unique wiring harness which terminates to ELCO connectors that can interface with any of the facility's writing rooms.

These floating shelves were created to match some existing pipe-fitting furniture in the space.
